Tips for organising a move
How to organise a move: the boxes
You can’t move without cardboard boxes. It is a good idea to have many boxes of different sizes, as well as a good amount of packing material. But remember that the boxes have to be strong: a box that opens during a move can have tragic consequences.
It is important to seal boxes properly with resistant packing tape, especially if they contain heavy items. Don’t forget to clearly label each box with a black marker.
How to distribute items
To avoid nasty surprises, take care to distribute items wisely: use small boxes for heavier items so that they are easier to carry; use big boxes for bulky items, without worrying about saving on packing material.
Medium-sized boxes are ideal for fragile items such as ceramics. If you no longer have the original boxes in your possession, medium boxes are also good for electronic equipment such as cameras, computers, etc.
Save your back and ask for help
Avoid back injuries caused by carrying heavy objects. Take time to load the boxes onto a trolley and move at a leisurely pace, paying special attention when turning corners. If you decide against using professional services such as those offered by Brollo Traslochi, ask your friends and family members to help you load and unload boxes: many hands make light work!
